SIZE x PITCH x LENGTH SIZE x PITCH x LENGTH eg:- 1) M 10 x 1.5 x 1.5 D OR M 10 x 1.5 x 15 mm 2) M 8 x 1.25 x 1.5 D OR M 8 x 1.25 x 12 mm D= Size of Insert. Thus 1.5 D for M 10 = 1.5 x 10 = 15 mm and 1.5 D for M 8 = 1.5 x 8 = 12 mm Length of an insert is the same as the depth of your tapped hole.
